The new frontier: maintenance facilities


With the aim of improving the quality of support provided to the oil and gas industry in the Western blocks, NPA awarded ESS the redevelopment of the existing port facilities located at the Bullnose in Lagos Port Complex. The development has provided ESS with 400m of jetty and an overall total area of approx. 70.000sqm. It is the only base in Lagos Port Complex having a 12m LLW draft. Furthermore is perfectly located to receive and supply all the material needed for the construction of Eko Atlantic International Economic City


Ikpokiri Project 1,447 Ha and up to 4,000m of jetty

Nigeria LNG Limited, together with its selected suppliers Hyundai Heavy Industries and Samsung Heavy Industries and technical consultant Royal HaskoningDHV, approached the concessionaires to develop an LNG carrier integration and maintenance facility. Negotiation are ongoing to develop state of the art maintenance facilities.

Feasibility studies and Preliminary conceptual project design

Main technical data:

- Proposed site: Ikpokiri Island – approx 1480 Ha.

- Waterfront available: up to 4 km of new jetty – 13 m LLW.

- Distance available to perpendicular to shore line: 900 m plus

- Stacking area: up to 1,380,000 sqm

- Security: 24/7 security able to cover bordered rivers and creeks, assuring vessels’ convoy and operating on the overall Free Zone area.
